Consuming a diet rich in legumes, pulses, fruits and vegetables is considered to be very beneficial for health, but it can also help in overcoming the problem of infertility.
This claim was revealed in a medical study
conducted in Australia.
A study by Monash University, the University of the
Sunshine Coast and the University of South Australia found that such a diet
(commonly used in the Mediterranean region and called the Mediterranean diet)
reduced the risk of infertility. The risk is reduced while the success of any
treatment for infertility increases.
According to researchers, this food with
anti-inflammatory properties increases the chances of having children in
couples.
Infertility is a major problem worldwide, affecting
48 million couples and 186 million individuals (individuals).
Dietary choices may be a simple and effective way
to influence fertility, the researchers said.
He said that having children is one of the few
major decisions in life, but if this does not happen, the life of the couple is
greatly affected.
"Research
reports have shown that edema causes infertility in both men and women, and
that's why we wanted to investigate a diet that reduces edema,"
he added.
"We
found evidence that a high intake of healthy fats and flavonoids (from fruits,
vegetables, legumes or pulses) while limiting consumption of red and processed
meat may help with fertility," he said.
People living in the Mediterranean region have a
diet high in grains, olive oil, fruits, vegetables, seeds, pulses, nuts,
yogurt, cheese, fish, chicken, or eggs, while red meat is very low. Consumed in
small quantities.
In contrast, the Western-style diet is more popular
in the world today, which is high in harmful fats, refined carbohydrates, and
animal proteins, while lacking in fiber, vitamins, and minerals, which increases
inflammation in the body.
Understanding the link between an anti-inflammatory
diet and protection against infertility could be life-changing for couples
trying to have children, the researchers said.
He added that such a diet increases the chances of
conceiving and that is why the research results are very encouraging.
He said that more research is needed in this regard
but there is no harm in making changes in diet as it will improve overall
health.
